Our regular CFE Meetings include a raffle of items related to our hobby. We've had everything from patches and ball caps to a surplus fire hydrant in the raffle. If you have items you can donate to the raffle, just bring them).
Directions from the north - take the I-110 South to CA-47 N/Seaside Fwy in Los Angeles. Take exit 1A for CA-47 toward Vincent Thomas Bridge/Terminal Island/Long Beach, exit Harbor Blvd, go south to 1st Street and turn left.
Directions from the south - (from 405 freeway from Orange County) take I-710 South to Exit 1b and Pico Avenue. Use the right lane to take the ramp onto Seaside Freeway. Follow Seaside freeway over the VIncent Thomas Bridge to exit 1C, Harbor Blvd. Go south to 1st Street and turn left.
1) Best and closest choice is the PAY parking lot for World Cruise Terminal and USS Iowa Parking (Berths 91-93). Enter from 1st street and Harbor Blvd, east side, San Pedro, CA. Follow the signs around to parking lot entrance and then park all the way south near the big white tent housing the Ralph J. Scott. This is also the parking lot for the Battleship IOWA Museum (tours daily from 10-4) and the World Cruise Terminal. The first two hours are $2, each additional hour is $2 with a maximum of $18 per day.
2) FREE parking is available at the CALTRANS park & ride lot located at 401 N. Beacon Street, at the northwest corner of W. O’Farrell St. San Pedro. This is a 6 block walk to the Ralph J. Scott tent (1 block east to S. Harbor Blvd. and 4 blocks south to 1st street, then a short walk to A street (the perimeter road around the pay parking lot) and 2 more blocks south to the Ralph J. Scott. (You CANNOT enter the Ralph J. Scott tent from Harbor Blvd, it is fenced due to the railroad tracks, so make sure to enter from 1st to A street).
3) Street Parking. There is no parking on the east side of Harbor Blvd. and limited free street parking (which will be full on weekends) on the west side. There is metered street parking several blocks to the south.
Also nearby is the Los Angeles Harbor Fire Museum at old Station 36 (Open Saturdays 10-3), 639 S Harbor Blvd, San Pedro, CA 90731. (Metered Parking on the Street). Also close by: the USS Iowa, the Los Angeles Maritime Museum (adjacent to LAFD FS 112) or Port O’ Call Village.
